I connect marketing objectives to business objectives and decide with you what to start, continue or stop.
The price range.
The starting price provides orientation. A binding price can only be set once the desired result, responsibility, implementation share and the company's contribution are clear.
I lead marketing and communications, set priorities, make clear recommendations and ensure that decisions are implemented.
The price is not a package of hours. It reflects the agreed responsibility and specific scope. Both are documented in writing before the mandate begins.
What the mandate can include.
The exact scope depends on the starting point. These six areas form the typical framework.
I prepare decisions, identify dependencies and assume leadership within the agreed area of responsibility.
I lead the internal team and coordinate agencies, freelancers and other specialists.
Depending on the agreement, I create or revise posts, landing pages, advertising materials and other assets myself.
Wherever possible, I connect activities and cost to leads, orders, sales and revenue.
I show what is working, what is missing and which decision needs to be made next.
What is agreed separately.
An ongoing mandate and a standalone project have different objectives, workloads and deadlines. Keeping them separate protects both parties from unclear expectations.
Standalone projects
- A new website with its own result and deadline
- Positioning or a brand built from scratch
- A substantial campaign or production
- Technical setup of new measurement systems
Third-party services and expenses
- Media budget, print and production
- Hosting, domains, software and licences
- External specialists and production partners
- Further services not explicitly listed
No surprises on the invoice
Anything outside the agreed mandate is quoted in advance with scope, price and deadline. Third-party services are included only when explicitly listed.
A fair comparison considers total cost.
A monthly amount alone says little. Compare who actually leads, who implements, how much internal coordination remains and which additional costs apply.
Mandate
Cost structure: agreed monthly scope plus separately approved projects and third-party services.
Internal effort: management and the team contribute, while overall leadership sits with me within the agreed scope.
Agency or freelancer
Cost structure: retainers, projects or hours, plus possible media and production costs.
Internal effort: objectives, briefing, decisions and coordination normally remain within the company.
Employee
Cost structure: salary, employer costs, recruitment, infrastructure and additional external services.
Internal effort: the role is built, managed and developed permanently within the company.
Start with a complete cost picture
If internal work, agencies, software, media and production have not yet been recorded together, the Total Marketing Cost Check provides an initial view. The decision guide shows which operating model fits the leadership need.
What determines the specific scope.
A mandate is not defined by a generic list of services. These points determine what is sensible and realistic.
- Which business result should improve, and how will marketing's contribution be assessed?
- Which leadership responsibilities are not adequately covered today?
- Which employees, agencies and systems are already in place?
- Which share of ongoing implementation do I take on myself?
- Which standalone projects or external specialist services are additionally required?
What is documented in writing
The result, responsibility, scope, client contribution, price, third-party services, duration and handover are agreed before work begins. This makes clear what the monthly amount includes and what requires separate approval.
You can start directly or with a marketing assessment.
If the leadership need is clear, the mandate can be defined directly. If the starting point is still open, I first review objectives, activities, data, costs and responsibility.
Direct mandate start
- The leadership need and area of responsibility are clear
- Management and the team support the collaboration
- The result, scope and contribution can be agreed specifically
Marketing assessment
- 90-minute kick-off and analysis of the existing foundations
- Written assessment of bottlenecks and priorities
- 90-minute debrief and recommendation for the next step
- Standalone price: CHF 2,500
What happens after the start
The first 90 days of marketing leadership shows which work products are created during days 1 to 30, 31 to 60 and 61 to 90, and what client contribution is needed.
Frequently asked questions about cost and scope.
What does fractional marketing leadership cost?
A WAAR.CH mandate starts at CHF 8,000 per month. The specific price depends on the leadership need, implementation share, team, starting point and any additional specialist services.
What is included in the monthly mandate?
The agreed scope includes marketing leadership, prioritisation, management of teams and service providers, decision support, reporting and a defined share of ongoing implementation. The exact scope is documented in writing.
Which services are quoted separately?
Larger initiatives with a separate result, such as a new website, a brand built from scratch or a substantial campaign, have their own scope, price and deadline. Third-party services are included only when explicitly listed.
Is a mandate less expensive than hiring an employee?
This can only be assessed by comparing total cost and the responsibility actually assumed. Workload, employer costs, recruitment, external partners and required duration all need to be considered.
Can I commission individual implementation services only?
Yes, if the result can be clearly defined. Implementation projects generally start at CHF 12,000. A brand or website built from scratch is quoted individually. If the main requirement is low-cost production hours, WAAR.CH is unlikely to be a good fit.
